Where do you source your tallow?
We source our tallow from sustainable, grass-fed and finished farms right here in Alberta. These small-scale farmers prioritize ethical practices, animal welfare, and regenerative land care — so you can feel good about what you’re putting on your skin and where it comes from.
Does it smell like beef or animal fat?
Not at all. Our multi-step purification ensures the grass-fed tallow is clean and odorless before whipping. This creates a neutral base for the sweet, herbaceous notes of Blue Tansy and the earthy, resinous warmth of Frankincense, resulting in a sophisticated botanical aroma rather than a beefy one.
What does blue tansy smell like?
Blue Tansy has a naturally distinct aroma described as sweet, herbal, and slightly floral with an earthy undertone.
The scent comes entirely from Blue Tansy itself, not synthetic fragrance. Its natural aromatic compounds also give it its signature deep blue color.
If you are sensitive to scent, warm a small amount between your fingertips before applying to soften the aroma.
Is it good for sensitive skin?
Tallow is rendered fat from grass-fed cows that closely mimics the natural oils (sebum) in our skin. It’s rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K — making it deeply nourishing, healing, and perfect for dry or sensitive skin.
What's the shelf life?
Since our Tallow is 100% natural and free from synthetic preservatives, we recommend using it within 6–12 months of opening. To keep your 'cloud' fresh, store it in a cool, dry place and always use clean, dry hands for application.
Is Blue Moon Tallow helpful for acne, psoriasis, and eczema?
Blue Tansy Tallow calms reactive skin by repairing the natural barrier and soothing inflammation. Grass-fed tallow mimics your skin's oils to seal the barrier, which is crucial for eczema and psoriasis, while the Chamazulene in Blue Tansy acts as a biological fire extinguisher for redness and itching.
This duo clears acne and softens plaques without stripping your skin.

Is it safe to use during pregnancy?
While our ingredients are natural, we do not recommend using this specific blend during pregnancy or while breastfeeding due to the potency of Blue Tansy and Frankincense essential oils.
